the cry of babies echo moons in twinkling eyes who cower

resting place implicit shell of lost child in crumbling tower

his eyes were flashing like an exit sign

bright red, he couldn't wait for someone

to walk right through him.

he jumped ship as soon as she sharks

started to circle

ready to light up the water

white and red -

the same colors that beat through his heart

like a drum

that he couldn't wait to stop playing.

he'd stopped playing a long time ago.

lucky for him, his heart beat on

perpetually praying for greener pastures

that his mind never believed in

that he wasn't looking for anymore.
